You get what you pay for

Three stars for overall quality, but maybe it should be four stars considering the price. The transmissions on these feel too "loose" for my personal taste. That is, they twist too easily. Parts other than the clip and transmission are plastic. The kit is made in China. I much prefer the Comfort or--especially--the Graduate. Taiwanese-made instead of Chinese, metal parts, more of a quality feel. It takes as much time to make a trimline as it does a Graduate, so I'd rather end up with a pen that says "quality."

Nice Pen

I am new to pen turning but find this a nice pen that is a litttle fatter than the Slimline but not too fat. My only problem is that I had to push the transmission in quite a bit farther than the mark to get the tip to extend out a nice distance.

Trimline Gem

I really like this pen because the parts fit snug and precise. The larger center band gives you more latitude on shaping the end result and the balance of the pen is superb. I would highly recommend this kit as a low-cost option to pen turning.

Trimline 24kt Gold Twist Pen Kit

If you like a bit more pen than the slimline I recommend the Trimline. More body and more of your blanks show on this pen. The gold band is very nice. Thanks Penn State

Trimline™ 24kt Gold Twist Pen Kit

These pen were a little harder to make but fun just the same. Very nice pen, the mechanism is the same as Slimline that I made before just a little sturdier pen. Little fatter pen. Personnally I prefer the slimline. I like the skinny pen and pencil. So I gave the Trimline away for Christmas and She was very happy with this pen. You have so many nice things that I want to make them all!!! Thanks again

Fun and easy...big hit at the shows

A unique pen with heft.

This pen is easy to turn and creates a product with a bit of heft. It feels good in the hand and makes writing a pleasure. Using different wood blanks changes the appearance of the pen and makes each unique.

Trimline pen kits

Not to big, not too small. Absolutely the best for production work. Size allows for more 'fancy' turning on pen blanks, more so than the slimline. This is my favorite standard set for pens.

24 kt twist pen

Great pen kit. Works well with deer antler.
