Description Specifications Customer Reviews

Here’s a complete barrel trimming system. An essential step for making a quality pen project is to square the end of your pen blanks and pen tubes prior to final pen kit assembly. Our system includes cutting shafts that will fit into a drill chuck or lathe chuck– the shaft will clean the glue from the tubes and act as a pilot for the 3/4" squaring cutter.

The complete system includes:

• 7mm, 8mm, 3/8", and 10mm pilot shafts
• 3/4" squaring cutter, allen wrench and instructions
• Sleeve adapter for #PKPARK-PCL & #PKMONT-PCL pencil kits

Works well so far. The flat part on the guide shaft might be smaller and not require so much adjustment to fit properly in the chuck.

The carbide cutter head only has 2 blades - very bad. It can bite too hard and crack the blank - I only had this a couple weeks and already had this happen. The other problem is that it doesn't always square the end (especially on hard woods). Becasue of only 2 blades, the blades can follow little hills and valleys, so you remove material but never get things square. I've gone back to my 4 blade steel cutter - just have to sharpen more, but much better results. PSI, this product needs to be fixed - ditch the 2 blade cutter.

This trimmer worked great. I was surprised at how well it cut the wood down to the pen tube. Some of my pen blanks are quite a bit longer than the tubes. We have been cutting them down before trimming the ends. My old cutter was struggling to cut that much wood down and going dull really fast. I would recommend this set for anyone trimming blanks it made my job alot faster and cleaner.

Great product! Works exactly as expected. Cleans out tubes, squares up ends. Much better than disc sanding.

I've used it a lot since I received it and it has worked as advertised. The only drawback is the sleeve that fits over the reamer. It doesn't want to stay put and keeps coming off in the blank.

I wish I had bought this cutter 6 years ago. What a difference compared to the steel cutter. I used to have to put alot of pressure to make a decent cut now it is effortless. Better than the other solution that uses your sander. I am really satisfied.

The idea is great, and only the 7mm trimmer gives me problems. I cannot get enough grip on it in my drill, and have had the bit turn inside the drill, raising burrs on the metal. Now this trimmer is difficult to remove from the barrel when I want to interchange trimmer sizes.

I previously had used the steel cutter that came with the starter kit. Hoping to get longer life, I bought the carbide with the interchangeable barrel sleeves. With the carbide cutter I have had frequent problems with tearing the end of the blank down into the are of wood that is part of the final product. I don't know if this is due to a dull cutter edge or to the fact that with only 2 cutting edges as opposed to 4 on the steel cutter that the bite is too aggressive. The sleeves interchange well and save time, but I have been using them on my old steel cutter because of the smoother cut.
