Let me start by saying that I have both this tool and the larger universal pen tube tool. Both work well, but while making a run of 7mm pen kits, I found that the smaller tool was much more convenient and easier for me to work with than the larger tool. So for me there is a case for having both. But then I'm a tool junkie.

Yes it has a couple drawbacks, as others have mentioned, but I still use it! The advantages are worth it. Nothing is perfect. I'd rather scrape glue off the tool than off my fingers.

CA glue sticks to the tube and must be cleaned after each insertion. Not what I expected given the way it was describe on your website.

Easy to use. Keeps fingers free of glue. Inexpensive. Convenient size. Saves time. BUT, tube rarely releases from tool after insertion (unless one waits for glue to dry!!); therefore a knife or similar thin edged tool must be used to clear the tube from the tool.

can't help but get some glue on tool and then the tubes stick and you must remove with your hands. outrageous price for a tapered piece of metal with a handle.

Good to have but not a must have. Thou it may keep some of the glue off you it sometimes pulls the tube out just as the glue starts to set. Its just one more tool and for the price why not.

Well made product. Just makes a dirty job a little easier. I hate wearing rubber gloves to glue tubes in pen blanks. This unit makes it clean and easy to install several tubes in a few minutes. Certainly not a necessary but a convenience.

This insertion tool makes the placement of the brass tubes very easy. The method I used before was difficult and caused a mess with the glue. Getting the glue on your hands is not nice. The insertion tool kept my hands clean.

The only difficulty I have is that the tool holds on to the tube so you have to hold it in place until the CA glue bonds with the tube and then you can withdraw the insertion tool without pulling out the tube as well. Use a 0000 steel wool pad or high number sandpaper to remove the CA glue from the tool. Cheaper than others I found and comes with a handle.

When we started penmaking 6 months ago, we thought we could make our own insertion tools to save money. After many goopy messes, we discovered we were wrong and order the pen insertion tool. It made believers of us right away, easily inserting tubes with glue with precision and no mess. We just wish we had done it sooner!
