Well the black plastic cap comes off the refill and is reused with the new refill. These are great pens. My wife loves hers.

I would give this pen a 5 Star rating except for one thing. I needed a refill for the pen and I can't find one. The mini refill that Pen State lists, does not have the plastic end that is needed to screw in the pen. Has anyone else had this problem ?

This pen I ordered primarily for it's decorative features which are as nice in person as in the photos. A female customer saw the catalog and asked when I would be ordering the kits (sold before completion is real nice). The pen mechanism is the average 7mm parts, which I am still pleased with. These pens will hold up to a good amount of use. Everything makes this pen amazing but one thing. The weight of the pen is top heavy when the blank is turned with artistic flair. My advice is to test your weight when the turning is rough and unsanded.
