The sanding surface of this pad is a pliable sanding fabric with bonded abrasive with grits up to 4000X grit. This set of pads really leave the pen/pencil turnings super smooth. Along with the EEE cream and Shellawax, they help the turning to come out fantastic

I love Abralon pads. I use them on everything I turn; wood as well as plastic. I use conventional sandpaper to 400 grit, then switch to the Abralon pads, which produce a glass-like finish. They can be used over and over and over, wet or dry, and can be washed out when they get dirty.
