Great workshop pencil

I have had the larger size for a couple years now and while they are very nice they are just a bit large. I purchased 2 of these kits in chrome a couple weeks ago. I finished them and they are used everyday in the shop. Everyone loves them. Thanks for a great item. JIM

Suspect quality

I purchased 3 gold and 2 chrome Mini Sketch pencils end of Feb, 2010. They were easy to make up and assemble and when I finalLy achieved a finished product it looked great. However, when I tried to eject the lead it would not move. On examining the lead holding mechanism, the four prongs did not seem to converge properly at the centre and the lead could only be pushed through using a spare lead of the same diameter. While manually trying to manipulate the prongs to permit free movement (with little pressure), one of the prongs broke off rendering the pencil unusable. I then replaced the mechanism with another kit’s internals only to suffer exactly the same fate (broken prong). The 3rd. mechanism only permitted ejection of the lead by about 1/2 of its length which would again render it unusable as the lead shortens to half its size. While these kits may be from a faulty batch, I have raised the issue continually with PSI over the last month and a half and have had no reply whatsoever to date so I have basically 3 out of 3 unusable gold pens and none the wiser whether it’s a faulty batch or faulty gold material/manufacture. To complete the review, I can admit that there were no issues with the two chrome kits. I tried their respective mechanism in the original blank created for the gold kit and they worked beautifully. I do recommend a boycott of the gold kits until PSI can guarantee a better quality assurance.

MINI SKETCH 24k GOLDPENCIL:WITH 3mm lead

This is the first mini sketch pencil I've done. This is so easy that if you don't mess your blank up you will end up with a very nice shop (mechanical)pencil that is worth the money % time to make.
