Great product! I make needle cases for quilters that sell very well at craft fairs. They are an excellent way of using up those tiny pieces of exotic or fancy wood, the cutoffs you always find yourself with that you can't bear to throw in the trash bin. You can get two needle cases out of a single pen blank. The quality of the metal fittings is excellent, the plating is superb. They make top notch needle cases that, if well cared for, can be handed down for several generations. On top of all that, they're quick and easy to make.

A very open ended project

Aside from being a container, this project invites a lot of creativity into the shape of the final product. I have found the design of the ends of the container compatible with an almost limitless number of forms. As for the hardware, it is a very simple design, and the threading on the top are of quite impressive quality.

I love the secret compartment key rings for needle holders for all my quilting friends. The only thing is I wish they didn't have key rings and a fancier top, because none of my quilters would use it as a key ring.

Good for the price

I bought several of these when they were on sale and they are good for the price. There are nicer keychain kits out there but they cost a lot more.

I made these key chains for Christmas presents, They are very easy to make and are great quality, very fun to make and looks great. Price is great also for a nice but cheap gift. I'm sure they will love them.

Secret Compartment Gold Keychain

I found if you file down the top and bottom nib that inserts into the pen you won't have anymore cracks on the wood at those spots anymore. I had to find that out the hard way, it takes more time and glue but it's worth it.

I have made a couple of these and they turned out beautiful. I gave them away as gifts and they just loved them.They are easy to make and the price is right .I plan to order more to sell or give as gifts.I use mostly Burl wood on most of my projects(Cherry,Walnut and Oak) which finishes up very nice.
