assembly challengeWhen complete, this pen is a real charmer but getting to that point can be a challenge. The appearance of the pen is excellent - kind of like "Buck Rogers". The feel of the pen is just right. Not too heavy, not too light. I, too, found the tiny, brass insertion tube worthless. It crumpled even after I scraped the interior of the tube and lubed it with some light oil. After ruining the first pen, I turned a wood dowel down so that it barely fits inside the pen tube. Using that, the next pen assembled OK. The click mechanism really does need to be a bit more robust, perhaps something like the Vertex. Lots of potential here but a bit more refinement needed.

Needs Redesign of the Click MechanismThis is probably the nicest looking click pen kit I've seen. But the click mechanism (I've made 3 of these pens now and they are all the same)is not a positive, quite action. This is noticable with every click and it just sounds and feels "cheap". Also, as with most click pens as I understand, there is no room for error when putting them together. And the little piece of tube provided to judge when the mechanism is seated correctly is just plain worthless. Though I do like the way these pens look I will not buy any more until the click mechanism is improved to function at least as nicely as the cheap, plastic pens I get at the bank!

polaris click penAn excellent pen when finished. People love them. Only problem is the sizing tube for inserting the mechanism nut is a little small. Makes for an interesting time inserting the nut, but once you get past it it turns out to be a nice pen.

PolarisI am very impressed with this pen. The fit and function is flawless. The style makes it a pleasure to write with and sales have been great. I will order more, soon.

not as smoothI don't think the clicker was as smooth as advertised, I had to stretch the springs a little to get it to work properly. Otherwise, a fun kit to build and nice looking.

Polaris Gold ClickI get alot of interest in the polaris pens and when the click model came out I ordered a few to test. Those pens became very popular.

NiceThis kit looks better when using some sort of shape to the wood portion.

No Problems HereI made a real nice set on the first try. This is a robust pen and you'll want to use care so you don't remove too much wood also keep in mind that the clip is separate from the cap and must be in place before the cap goes on. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.
