Loved this kit

I was a little worried about this kit working after reading the reviews. After assembly my light didn't work. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the instructions are actually incorrect. The Negative side of the battery needs to go in first. Not the Positive as the instructions say. After flipping the batteries the light works great. Everyone loves it and I'm looking at a possible order of 100 more.

This product was easy to make and put together.I spent three hours trying to get the light to work properly.As I bought two of these I deceided to make another one assuming that I may have done something wrong. However I had the same problems with the second one.Frustration got the better of me in the end and they are both now in the bin.Of all the kits I have bought with you. This is my only complaint.Keep up the good work. Regards Gerry

Mini Penlight

I had a problem with the light not turning off. It looks like the spring gets caught on the brass tube. I installed the bulb directly into the barrel as far as it would go then screwed the bulb holder in place. This seems to remedy the problem.

light won't turn off

Can't get the light to go off! I suspect I may have ground the barrel a bit too short. if you put a bushing between the barrel and switch mechanism it will turn off. This solution is unsatisfactory.

Easy to make. People love them as gifts. Good quality for the money.

Very dissatisfied with product. Light doen't stay off. The weight of the product makes the light stay on. Double checked the assembly of the product. Bought two, will never buy these again.

Pen Light

A very easy to make kit that is sure to please anyone who sees it. I made my own blanks out of ebony, maple, and purple heart. My wife loves the light. She carries it on her key ring and has used it a few times in the dark. My only complaint is that it came apart and she lost some small spring and one battery. The problem is that she didn't notice this until she got home. By then it was too late to go back and look for the lost parts. Still, it is a great looking project. I will get more.

This is a great and fun project to make for any skill level. The led is very bright and with a twist the light stays on and you don't have to keep the button depressed.
