Bad MechanismGreat looking pen when finished but the mechanism does not work. Barely screws out the pen tip to write but won't retract it. Hope PSI can improve this good looking pen.

Needs ImprovementI purchased several of these kits, and had no luck. Overall the look and feel of them was great. I had problems on several of these pens getting the center ring to stay where it was supposed to, It kept sliding below the ring on the top of the bottom half. I ended up leaving the blank a little proud of the bushing to correct this. The other issue I had on all the kits is the transmission is finicky. It would tend to unscrew from the bottom half when trying to operate the pen. Maybe it was me, maybe it wasn't. I've been turning since December 2010 so I could be doing something wrong, for the price, the kits were great practice and free pens for family and friends. I probably won't buy any more to try to sell them, but possibly for gifts where the quality doesn't have to be nearly as perfect as I would strive for with something I wanted to sell.

Classic Twist PenThis is a good looking pen but I too have had problems with the twist mechanism being stiff. It's a shame to go through all of the work to create a nice looking pen just to have its operation be marginal. These are the ones that I put aside and keep for my own use. Has PSI looked into this problem? I won't be buying anymore of this style.

Ok but not for meI bought 5 or 6 of these kits. Two had blemishes that i did not notice until they were installed. One I salvaged with parts from another kit. When assembled, they are stiff to operate. Perhaps there is a tip for loosening them somewhat.

My penThis is the pen I use on a daily basis. I like the looks of the gun metal and the quality of the pen is great. Easy to turn and assemble.

Designer gun metal twist pen kitI continue to be satisfied with this cost-effective kit. The twist mechanism is consistently even and the kit parts are always flawless. Creating the tenon for the ring is the most problematic and time-consuming part of making one of these pens. If the tenon is too small, be very careful with the CA glue! Also, go very slowly when inserting the twist mechanism. It's easy to insert too far and then you're out of luck.
