A Disappointing Finish - Kit Made in ChinaI purchased a large quantity of these PSI kits thinking they were equivalent to a competitor's offering of the same basic style. Unfortunately, I was greatly disappointed in this PSI kit. The quality of the finish and several aspects of the design and functionality did not come up to my quality expectations based on recently using a competitor's product of the same name and style. I am sorry I bought these and will not use them because I expect my customers would be unhappy with the pens made with these kits.

Nice penThis pen is a bit more difficult than the slimline or comfort series, but the finished product is well worth the extra effort. With a bit of practice you can cut a tenon without much problem. The design attracts attention. Looks great is wood and plastic.

There is a reason they call itI had to download the instructions as they didn't come with the pen. I made this with a black blank after painting the tubes with black paint. The result was a very classic looking pen. This is a great looking pen for a very reasonable price. Any pen that uses the Parker style filler offers much more versatility since that filler can be purchased as a ball point or rollerball. The ballpoint can also be purchased in a very fine point for those who prefer that style. The black and gold hardware is a classic look. Any pen that requires cutting a tenon is more tedious but worth the trouble.

Assembly tipThis is a great pen and looks beautiful but here is a tip that may help you prevent a disaster. The threaded center ring is somewhat fragile and can easily be crushed when you press it into the bottom barrel. To avoid this, take a leftover piece of a wood blank and square the ends. Drill a shallow 7 mm hole in one end of the blank piece. Place the threaded part of the center ring in the hole and now press the center ring into the lower barrel. This way your press force is on the rim of the center ring rather than the threads. Hope this helps.

Classic Pen kitThe quality is very good. The price was even better. Plus the instructions were perfect for a beginner like me.

A great classic. This pen is a great all around pen that those new to custom turned pens don't feel intimidated by. It is a little harder to turn because of the tenon but turns out great every time.

Classic PensI found the classic pens to be a bit sub standard. The twist mechanisms do not function well. That said, what I would like to see is a click type pen in a classic style

AvcabreraMy favorite pen style. Love the retro look. It has become my #1 seller.

Classic Pen KitI found this kit to be as good as advertised. The price is the best I've found and the quality is as good as I've found. I'm buying more kits today. Thanks for a great product. Darrell

Classic Gold Twist PenThis kit builds a beautiful pen, but I had a couple of problems with assembly. Most of the pens I have made so far are slimline type, Cross refill, so I am not familiar with Parker types. The mechanism came assembled, but the instructions called for a threaded bushing, which I did not recognize as already in the mechanism. Eventually I figured that out. Also, the fit of the lower barrel into the center trim bushing is critical, which I also learned the hard way, after assembly. When all was said and done, I had a beautiful pen. And the next one should be easier!
