Cheap

I agree with others that the plastic components make this pen look very cheap. I expected more than that for the price.

My 1st disappointment

I've turned a lot of different style pens from PSI and this pen is a disappointment. For $12.95 for a rhodium plateed fountain pen kit to have plastic components leaves this pen looking cheap, almost tacky. The plastic end cap and plastic base for the center band cheapen this pen. Not too mention the center band had a little lip on it that made the assembly harder than it had to be. One actually broke on me as I was pressing it together. I'll feel slightly embarassed selling this pen. I won't be doing any more of these any time soon.

Nice pen kit

I bought this kit for a recent project and will likely buy more of them. The finish of the product is of high quality, and the pen writes very well. My customer loves his new pen.

A great pen for the money

I gave two of these away as Christmas gifts, and they were a huge hit. The kits go together very easily and make a beautiful finished product. I recommend using 7/8" blanks just to compensate for any beginner mistakes, but these made excellent gifts.

Fair to good fountain pen design

Good design, but could be better with metal nib components. Have had a few defective parts in some kits. Plating a bit iffy on plastic parts. Would pay a little more for a kit with metal instead of plastic.
