This is a easy to make 7mm kit with a long tube that will really show off your wood. Get creative by using a different color/species of wood for the short tube.Similar in design and construction to the popular Slimline style pen. Requires drilling a 3" long pen blank, or use PSI Super Blanks. Plus the Brushed Satin plating offers a very durable low-luster white metal plating that will give your pen a subtle and elegant look. It will compliment most of your arcylics and many wood species.

This is a lovely pen kit that really shows of the character of the wood with the longer 3' upper tube. I ofter use the same wood for the lower tube, but use a "cross cut" section for contrast. The gap is not an issue if you trim the finished upper blank to 1/16" longer than the required 3" stated in the instructions. You also need to dry fit the short tube into the lower end of the finished upper blank prior to assembly. If the short tube extends out of the blank, there is likely glue in the untubed section of the blank or the blank is too short. Glue can be removed by hand with a good 7mm drill bit. For the latter, the short tube can be trimmed slightly with no major problems. Happy turning.

Be careful the amount recommended in the inguide is a little too short. Leave a little extra length of material.

The pen wotks fine but I did not like the gap in the middle. It is not a very large gap but it bothers me.
