Great Pencil but the top disappears

I love this pencil but unfortunately the top falls off really easily - not a snug fit. So once the top has fallen off, the eraser is next to go. I've bought 3 of these kits just to replace the top and eraser.

Inst. difficult

This is an excellent pen. It works as expected and feels great. The only difficult part is the instructions. It is unclear if the wood section has a tub inside when on the lathe or not . . . it of course must but the instructions do not show that.

Nice pencil kit

Nice set all parts present and well made. Easy instructions to understand. Easy to make, turned out very well.

My favorite pen style

I now prefer this style. I like to find my own wood and usually look for interesting features to emphasis. With the Longwood pen style, you can feature a knot or interesting burl. If your blank (often the case) is not long enough for a full pen, you can use the rubber comfort tip. Since I am using my own found wood, I focus on finding a 3 inch long section that I want to feature. I highly recommend this style.

Longwood Pencil Kit

At first look I was not sure if the kit is one that I would like, but when I showed to pencil to customers it was the first to go, they were all gone in very short time. Very popular and easy to complete, a great pencil and the pen is just as good. Thanx Pen State you did it again.

Great kit

You will want to be sure to drill the 3" upper barrel all the way from one end. Drilling part way from each end can give you some problems. I wind up drilling part way through the blank then raising the blank in my vice to finish. It's a little extra effort but well worth the time when you install the mechanism. I also like to use the comfort grip as a time saver but a contrasting wood can be a real eye catcher.
