Nice ScoupI made my first one of these scoups about a week ago and I have already sold three of them, they do make for a nice project and I will be getting more of them.

Fun to makeIn about two hours, I made three scoop handles including finishing them with the "I can't believe this finish" glue layers with accelerator. This finish, using the plastic polish at the end looks like a million dollars. It is absolutely gorgeous! Some one stated that they had a problem gluing the handles to the scoops. I inserted the scoop into the handle and placed it vertically with the scoop end down. I then poured the epoxy glue down through the plug end. I glued in the plug and then placed the finished scoop in the vertical position, scoop end down, and left it that way overnight. I hope that this system works okay as I will have made nine scoops in the next two weeks gluing them in this manner.

Missing an important element.I really think this item was intended originally to have a molded handle formed over the scoop shaft because of the pin holes located on this shaft. The pins kept the handle from turning and help keep it embedded into the plastic. With that said I think that this item is missing an important piece. That would be a metal collar to go over a tenon formed right after the scoop. This would prevent the wood from splitting at its most vulnerable point, where it attaches to the scoop. This is where the full force is going to be exerted when you scoop out that rock hard ice cream in the winter. Even though I used a very hard wood for the handle I expect it will eventually break at its weakest point. Probably sooner more than later.

nice scoopI like this one much better than the gold one that's not gold. Makes a good scoop.

Nice scoopThis scoop has a nice finish, looks better than the competition but I wish it was a little thicker but that's just my taste. Totally recommend!!!!

Ice Cream ScoopHigh quality, with a great design for scooping hard frozen ice cream. No more bent spoons! The shape is well thought out and works extremely well. I turned a piece of wood large enough for my chuck to grip, drilled a one inch hole, and turned a tenon to match on my handle stock. Glued them together and used the chuck, rather than a mandrel. Its a fair price for a very nice scoop. My wife loves it. She was taking up to five minutes to make a small bowl of ice cream using a small butcher knife and spoon, now she can do in less than a minute. I made the handle two inches longer, for a little more leverage, if she needed it, as she does not have strong hands and wrists. I am ordering two more today for gifts.

Ice Cream ScoopTurned out great. The coutomer loved it. I now have orders for several more.

needs better instructionsThe instructions needs to specify the use of a hard, dense wood because the hole drilled inside weakens the wood. The first one I turned broke the first time I used it.

Ice Cream ScoopMuch easier than the old scoop. The most difficult part is glueing it together.

Ice cream scoopThis is a great kit. The fit is consistent and looks great. I hope you put out one in brass with the same dimensions.
