Excellent grinder with a wow factor. I went a different direction with the base turning a round bowl with a lid from maple. Just like a turned lidded box. Drilled a hole, turned the top and bottom together, then parted the two and hollowed out the bottom. It looked terrific. I like it much better than the square box with drawer.

Great little grinder, makes a mean cup of coffee (that would be great coffee). I built the box and drawer out of black walnut and hand rubbed with boiled linseed oil...a functional thing of beauty. Making one out of curly tiger maple next. This coffee grinder is very affordable and quite ornate, certainly worth the time and price to construct a piece of our heritage.

This is a well made mechanism. Decent plans, though I added corner braces and attached the top with screws from inside.

Nice mill. Grinds well. Easy to install. Would suggest a small oval label that says COFFEE to put on front of wooden box. Price good.

I bought 2 PKGRIND3's and found them okay. Thought they were very good, as a matter of fact. Thought I'd try the the PKGRIND. Bought 3 each. They are superb! Much better than the PKGRIND3's. I'm turning a "bowl" with a drawer to house these. The PKGRIND's are larger but work much much better. They both fit on the same size "bowl".

The coffee grinder works great. I set it as low as it could get, and it actually worked, producing a very even fine grind. The mechanism works very smooth, with almost no play in the gears. I recommend this grinder for anybody making a hand-crank coffee mill.

This awesome working grinder was a snap to build. The plans for the box were simple and complete. The grinder's action is smooth and grinds the beans with ease. The antique feature looks sharp. Highly recommend this project.
