Accepts Parker style ball point refills, easy to make with a single tube. This Gatsby Pen Kit is plated with rhodium, an exquisite and valuable precious metal from the Rhodium chemical group. Rhodium's brilliance, hardness, and beauty make it a favorite of fine pen makers and collectors. Rhodium is extremely durable; it resists tarnish and is very resistant to scratching, and acids. Includes an attractive I.D. card which identifies and explains the rhodium plating. It also includes a space for you to sign the project and give information about the turned wood you used.

This is a great looking pen and the mechanism works very well. The only problem I had is that the material gets very thin at the ends. If you are not extremely careful, the wood will tear away near the ends of the tube.

I have made several Gatsby's in gold previously. The Platinum finish is worth the extra $ for a much richer looking product.

Very simple design yet has very dramatic results. However, this kit is VERY tube-length specific. Needing to shorten the tube will result in the cartridge sticking out too far.
