My favorite pen

I make a number of styles of pens, but this is by far my favorite. It's the one I personally carry. It is extremely simple to make, but that is just a plus. It looks great and has a wonderful mechanism. It shows off the wood better than any other pen I make. The black framing makes the wood jump out at you. Even more, because it uses such a short blank, you can get two pens per normal blank. And if you have a lot of shorts then this is the pen. The only problem is that I am always running short of kits, I never order enough.

Really like this pen. Have made and sold a pretty good number of Gatsby twist pens and was hoping the click style could become available at a decent price. Wasn't disappointed. Single barrel design makes it easy and economical to turn. Click mechanism is positive and assembly is straight forward. Looking forward to selling a lot of these!

Great pens

I love these pens. My favorite so far. They do rattle a little bit.

NEW FAVORITE

I teach high school wood shop. The Gatsby click has become the new favorite among students. It is a simple pen to turn, only requires 1/2 a standard blank which allows for a backup if a student has a blow out, and it is an elegant pen to give as a gift.

This pen is easy to make and it is well liked by friends and customers. Order more than you expect to need because you will get more demands for them!

This is a great pen kit, easy to make and has a quality click mechanism which is available in Gel and Ballpoint refills! And it shows off the wood very well.

As the lathe turns

This is my second order of the Gold click pen kit. The first one I ordered by mistake. It turned out beautiful and was easier to put together than I had thought. It has been a hit even with other woodturners. A lot of people like the click style.

Gatsby is a

This is great kit. It goes together well - and that says a lot because I have had trouble with "click pens" - getting the click mechanism installed and working properly. No problems with this pen. While I do not make a lot of pens I will be ordering more of these.

Love this pen

I love this pen. I've turned twist versions of it before, but I like the click version so much better. Having only one barrel to turn, it is much easier and quicker to make. And, the pen is so elegant, and writes so well. It feels really good in your hand.

Great pen, but read directions

The first time I bought this kit I made the mistake of assembling it without reading the directions. It has to be pressed in just the right order or it won't go together. Click pens are like that I guess. Read the directions, assemble it correctly and you've got a very nice pen. And as always I wholeheartedly recommend the Parker Gel refills to replace the default rollerball. When you make an awesome pen it should be able to write as good as it looks. If only they could get a better cross style refill.
