Poor clicker mechanism

I sold two Vertex Click pens to different customers. They returned me the pen because the Clicker plastic mechanism broke inside. The customers love the design but I decided not offer it anymore because the bad quality click mechanism.

Nice design

I bought one kit to "try it on for size". It is a nice design which will appeal to men. I turned the barrel to immediately step up to larger size of the hex points which yielded a nice, balanced effect visually. Am ordering more.

Clicker is cheap

Had the pen for about a week, dropped it on the floor. Landed flat, not on the tips. Clicker plastic mechanism broke inside. Weak! I'm still giving the pen kit 3 stars, because I really like the pen kit look and feel. Hopefully I can get this exchanged.

O.K. - but not as good as I expected

This is the first vertex pen kit I have purchased in the chrome finish. The kit is nice and heavy, feels like quality and works well, BUT, the chrome plating finish is poor in my book. it looks cheap! you can see very small "bubbles" and streaks in it and does not look near as good as some of the other chrome finish pen kits I have bought from Penn State such as the Funline, Trimline and Patrizio. The other ones such as gun metal may be fine but I won't buy anymore chrome in the vertex model.

Vertex Click Mechanism

I have made four of these pens and on three the click mechanism worked perfectly. On the fourth, you have to not tighten the button. If you do the point fails to engage and stay put.

A pen for engineers

The vertex kit is well made and assembles quite easily. When buying this kit, be warned: It is quite LONG. The pen itself is great quality and works amazingly, but the length did surprise me. Also, this is a CLICK pen, not a twist. On that note, the click is silent.

Vortex is Nice Design

I turned this pen in short order although the brass tube was a little longer than most. Make sure your drill dead center in the smaller blanks! Assembly was easy but the click mechanism seemed to jam when I first assembled. I sprayed a little WD-40 into the barrel and it worked just fine. This is a masculine pen that has a good feel to it when writing. The price is right for this pen. I recommend this as a good buy for all pen turners.

Vertex Click Pen

The best feature of this pen is the click mechanism- very smooth- hope it stands up over time. The components seem to be good quality, although the design leaves a bit to be desired- the mating surfaces are too small in diameter- the pen looks strangled and out of proportion in these areas.
