About David Broadwell
David Broadwell is an accomplished custom art knife and pen maker with twenty-four years experience shaping & sculpting a variety of metals, fine woods, ivories, and stone. His pens have been featured in Stylophiles online magazine, Pen World International, Stylus Magazine, and was showcased in the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) 3M Innovative Tools 2002 Exhibition. "I have always loved Art Nouveau with its intensely organic lines and have incorporated it into my work for many years. One of my more popular and personal favorite pen designs is my Sceptre. When asked to design the components for Penn State Industries newest kit my first thought was to use elements from my Sceptres - the wide cap top and the rounded barrel - with some new freeform Nouveau elements for the trim. I find it interesting and relaxing to watch trees being blown by a gentle breeze, and I wanted the ribbon on the cap band to look as if it were being blown about by the wind."

This kit is both well designed and great looking! I built my first one with Black Ash Burl.I get responses like "amazing" and "spectacular".Rotate the stock on the bushings before final turning and square the ends. The pen will grab ALOT of attention!

I finally gained enough experience to attempt this pen. It was a lot easier then it looks. I used Spalted Tiger Oak on it and now I do not want to give it up. It goes together well. Parts are well made. Just a beautiful pen. AND the extras... a well spent 30 bucks.

Great quality pen kit and super easy to turn and put together. I have sold a bunch of these pen. They are pretty expensive but look beautiful.

I was looking for the pen kit that seperated me from the "Local" pac. This was it. After everyone saw it, it was clear I had pulled out way in front of by friends. I used a black Invisavue acrylic pen blank. It was a "Stunner". This pen will bring $165.00 all day long. No Problem.

The Broadwell Nouveau Sceptre pen is probably my favorite followed by the Majestic Jr. The weight and feel is perfect and the parts are high quality thick , not tin foil like some and the cap design is unique. $30 bucks is a lot, but the kit is alot of good stuff.
