Fantastic kitI just had the pleasure of making my first two civil war pens one in gunmetal and one in satin. The one piece tube really lets you show off your material and the ease in which it goes together makes this a really nice pen. The first one was sold before I even took it off my lathe. Keep up the great work..

Civil war penThe guys in the civil war re-inactment group loved it!

Great gift for the Civil War collectors!I like this pen kit, easy to turn with the single tube and simple assembly. I have had several very good comments for this pen and they sell quickly. I turned one with Walnut and it looks great.

Excellent Pen!I just turned my second civil war pen and noticed something odd - Why are some of the clips upside down? I turned a Satin and a Gun Metal pen and the clips are opposite of the images shown online. All of the pictures in your recent catalog show upside down clips (for someone who writes with their right hand). Granted -this gives you the ability to turn a left or right handed pen - but only if you get the correct clip (and how many times has someone specifically requested a left-handed pen?). Everything else about this pen is excellent - including one of the best twist mechanisms currently available on any pen! Could you offer replacement tubes and clips fro this pen since it seems to sell out often? I often buy several replacement tubes and turn barrels for pens I make later - and this kit is perfect for that as each end is a different diameter (no chance of forgetting which end is the tip!)

Very nice kit.The civil war Pen Kit is an easy pen to turn and when antler or horn material is used it makes a very sellable pen to a wide range of potential customers. Gun collectors, history buffs, civil war re-enactors. I have sold several made of moose antler and they were quick sellers at a gun show I attended.

Everybody Loves ThemMade this using Stars & Bars kit from another supplier. Very realistic cap and nib. Should sell well during the U.S. Grant Birthday Celebration in April.
