The internal hi-tech ceramic grinder is adjustable and will grind peppercorns, rock salt or spices and will never rust. Easy mounting without use of glue or screws. Top and bottom wood sections fit on to this mechanism that allows rotation for grinding. Make to any length and in any material. Get creative with your design. Refill the mill from the top or the bottom. For bets results, we highly recommend using wood blanks that are 2-1/4" or more in diameter.

The crush grind mechanism is a great piece. It does require a bit more skill to make the mill but definitely worth the effort. I have made many of these for family, friends and clients, and they love them. The mechanism is easily adjusted and does a great job at grinding

This was my first pepper mill. I liked that I could determine the height of the mill myself. It does require very careful work to fit it all together, but then it's something to be proud of. The mechanism works very smoothly.

I like this kit as well as the shaft type. I think it takes a litte more experience due to having to match mating tennons, but it is really not hard to do. The bottom 1 3/4 x 3/4 deep part of the hole can be 1 5/8.
