Click Adjustment

There is no adjustment to the click mechanism. The turned piece must be cut precisely or trimmed to the exact length of the brass tube. Otherwise the end of the refill will not extend correctly. Once the pen is assembled, there is no correction. If you try to disassemble you will destroy the fragile click mechanism.

Nice pen, lousy ink refills

Nice looking pen especially if you dress it up with some of the very nice custom clips. I have given these pens away for military retirements, birthday and Christmas gifts. I also carry one with me in my laptop bag, however’ It’s embarrassing to give a gift only to find the ink skips after a few days. My experience is to throw away the ink refill that comes with the pen and go buy a refill from the local office supply store. I have pens at the moment I won’t part with because they write terrible.

thin click mech

I have discovered a trick after making about 2 dozen. When inserting the 3 piece click mechanism don't use the pen refill, the plastic is to thin to take any real pressure and the otter sleve will crack. I own the Pen Disassembly Punch Set Item #PKDISET, there is a punch that fits perfectly inside the tube and puts the pressure on the outter sleeve and not on the 2 piece click mechanism. No more issues. Hope this helps others.

poor instructions and click mechanism

Good looking pen, but instructions left a lot to be desired; Could not get the click mechanism to work. A twist pen replacement/alternative would be most welcome. Larry R.

Worst assembly instructions I have seen.

I have at least 3 different versions of the cartridge pen assembly instructions. Each is horrific in its own right. The pen is beautiful, but how to get to a working model, following the instructions, is a mystery to me. I just reviewed the latest online pdf instructions: it uses the phrase "opposite end of the barrel" for both ends of the barrel, depending on the step you are on. The instructions refer to a "plunger coupler". I wonder if that is the same thing as a "plunger". I love the following sequence" "Press the plunger coupler through the clip assembly into the opposite end of the barrel. Drop the plunger spring into the opening at the clip end, follow with the plunger, screw in." Since there is no "plunger coupler" separate from the "plunger" in the assembly diagram, this task is not possible. I know this pen got 5-star reviews from almost everyone; but I for one, can only speculate that everyone already knew how this was supposed to go together.

Good idea for a pen but poor click mechanism

This pen is cool, sleek and well balanced. It sells well at shows, but I will not be ordering anymore of them. The click mechanism is poorly constructed and I have had about half of my finished pens jam at the click. If the click mechanism for this pen was like the vertex, I would start buying them again.

30 caliber success

I bought a few of these kits to try and found I couldn't make them fast enough. They sold out at the gift shop where I showed them the first time and have had great feedback on them. They feel good and work well. Thanks for a GREAT product! Duane in Washington

Click Mechanism Poor

These pens are finished very well, have good weight and balance, and the plating is nice. The only poor part is the clicking mechanism. Out of ten I ordered I've had problems with half. I follow the instructions very closely. This kit would be unbeatable with a more reliable mechanism. For now, I will only make the twist type that always turn out great. I won't order these kind again.

30 cal. Bullet cartridge click w/Camo Blank

I love the way this pen turned out! Instructions were very precise, the blank turned wonderfully, and I think this will sell quickly. I will definitely get more of these in the future!
