I concur with Stephen Britt Sr (Saylorsburg, PA) on his review. I even tried to smooth the clip end to see if that stopped the scraping of the wood. Even that didn't work. Otherwise the pen has great looks only.

This is a nice looking pen, but
the clip scraps across the wood surface when you twist it.
This is going to scrape the wood finish at some point.
Just can't see me buying more, even as nice as they look.

The pen was easy to assemble. However, when you twist the pen, the clip moves and comes in contact with the wood surface and scratches the finished wood, creating a slight groove. This is a good pen for personal use but I don't give them as gifts or sell them.
These Pens are well made and when done right have a very nice heft to them. A large number of our patrons advise that they like the way that they feel when they use them. We find them to be an excellent product and can't keep enough around.

Although this is a nice kit it does have a very big flaw. If you use soft wood, when twisting the pen, the clip will create a groove in the wood actually cutting through the finish. The only way to relieve that problem is to bend the clip out away from the body of the pen. And even that does not do away with the problem totally. Hard woods are affected the same way but not as much.
