This kit provides the premium resins and accessories you need to make custom crystal clear plastic turning blanks. Just pour the casting resin over your decorated tubes - wait 24 hrs then remove the cast tubes from the mold, cut them apart and turn and finish them on your lathe like any other plastic material. The end result will be your design encapsulated into a crystal clear tube that turns like plastic and is assembled with your pen.
The resin is guaranteed to be premium quality, crystal clear, non-yellowing, UV safe and easily turned into the pen profile of your choice. The kit includes: 32 oz of polyester casting solution (makes 10-15 pens), hardener, gloves, measuring cup, casting mold, tube stoppers plus casting and decorating instructions. It works great as long as you stay with your project until it starts to set up. Air bubbles start to form and left unattended will ruin the blank

I got the kit an enjoyed working with it. I think it would be a better kit if it came with other molds as well. Maybe a one piece mold with a 4-6 6" blank capacity.. Other than that, It is a fun kit.

I was skeptical at first, but I ordered this kit and have already made several pens with it. It's really quite simple when you follow the instructions. I've used wallet-sized photos to make personalized pens. People love them and say: "How did you do that?" I've used "stone-look" spray paint to make a granite-look pen. The possibilities are endless. If you've got bored with regular wood pens, or just want to try something new and different, you will have fun with this. PSI made it easy by including everything you need.

This product is very easy! Great for picture, name, etc. Now I can customize a pen. Bought the one-step plastic polish for the finish and look great!
