Do not assume the tubes are uniform length

I made the mistake of assuming (I know, I know)that all the tubes are exact in length. One tube was considerably shorter, which cost me a finished pen as I was unable to assemble it. Luckly I was able to salvage it as a pencil.

I'm glad I saw the precut tubes, saves me a lot of time. I like spending time turning instead of cutting tubes.

You can never have enough tubes once you get started making pens. I started with only the ones in the kits, but now I cut my wood, drill my pieces and glue in my tubes so I don't have to stop after each pen. I always have 8 or more ready for the next step of work.

These are a great deal for replacement tubes in case one gets damaged or glued incorrectly. Correct length and diameter, saves money over buying a complete kit.

It's great to be able to purchase the tubes alone. I have had several pen blanks "shatter" while being turned. This leaves me with an "extra" pen kit but not the tubes. Purchasing the 10pack allows me to use these kits which would otherwise just sit around.
