Great kits

This the 2nd year to make pens in our church we have made pens at vaction bible school. 1st year 91,2nd year 94. This offered to the adults from 18 to 84.They want to turn them next year. This kit is great. We do it for 5 nites with 4 lathes going.

Mixed Review

Some flaws in the TN and platinum components. First customer service representative promised to replace, but never did. The second customer service rep replaced the defective parts promptly.

fun and easy

They are easy to make, and will make great gifts. The only thing I didn't like is in the kits that you buy, with the wood blanks they send you , there is no way to match wood grain. I would rather cut and drill them myself so that I can match wood grain.

Fast way to learn about slimlines

Have not made these pens before. The kit gave me sufficient materials to make some neat looking pens for Christmas. I did need to order the bushings (remember to order those if you don't have them). Only problem is that blanks are cut to exact size of tubes so you can't doddle while gluing them in.

Slimline 10 Pen Kit Sampler Special

This is a good way to get started. Only thing is that I have ordered this one twice now. It is the best one for the money and it make great Christmas Gifts.The kit are easy to put together and they REALLY look nice when done. I have really enjoyed making them and the people that got them for christmas gifts really liked them. Besides who doesn't need a pen or pencil. Thank you so much,

This was a great way to start my pen making experience. I was able to experiment with various pen shapes and match the wood to the pen kit colors.

Great selection in one kit

This is a great way to get quite a few pens/pencils or sets built up. Gives you an opportunity to see some of the different finishes on the kits before you order some of the more expensive kits. Having the blanks cut and drilled is a HUGE time saver.

The key to everything was your articulate free DVD "Hand-Crafted Pens - The basics." Slimline 10 Pen Sampler was indeed a good assortment for a beginning pen maker. By the third item I had a very good idea of how the mandrel and bushings worked for sizing the pen and how close I needed before sanding. Of note, one rosewood piece had a flaw in the drilled hole, this blew out to the brass tube as I was finishing the piece.
