Horrible Pen

One of the worst pens ever !!!!!!!!!!!! Not durable did not like the finish product either.

Twist mech

Love the kit. Very well made except for the twist mechanism. I have had four fail in the last 20 kits that I have ordered. 3 out of 4 have been the inner sleeve that holds the Cross refill. It comes loose and renders the kit useless. The only remedy is to disassemble the pen and use the twist assembly from another kit.

Hard to beat for the price

I am picky, way picky. I bought 20 of these based on other reviews and while I will also buy other pens kits I might just order another 20, There that good.

Great finish

I use this pen as the basis for many different styles because of it's finish. Very durable. Build without a center band or make your own center band to create different pen styles.

Looks great

Definitely very good for a start! Simple and looks good. The slim middle is limiting the shapes you can do with this, but not that much.

Slimline Pen

Very easy pen to turn and assemble. This pen looks and shows great in either wood or acrylic. Very popular with customers. This pen will allow you to increase your production due to the ease of making and assembly. Team this with pre-drilled 7mm blanks for even greater production. This pen has great balance and feel and coupled with a Cross refill makes the pen more appealing.

Great pricing on pen kits

Every part fits together perfectly. Fit and finish was perfect. My only request would be that for a large order such as 50 kits, it might be better to bag the parts in groups such as a bag of tubes, a bag of points, bag of mechanisms, etc. That way "production" turners could grab a bunch of tubes, for example, without having to open so many indiviual bags.

There is a reason I always go to Penn State. Dealing with them is just as relaxing as a day spent turning. Great products abound, including the slimline pens!

Having more fun than I thought I could

After seing what a coworker made with your pen kits I thought I would try it. Now all my relatives have pens and I am having a ball making them. A reasonable cost makes a great looking pen in about 20 minutes.
