Using wood with a high moisture content could be disastrous to your finished work.  This meter measures the moisture content of any lumber including stabilized and fabricated woods, hardwoods and softwoods.  To use the meter simply insert the meter's pins into the wood and press the on/off switch.  A LED give you an instant accurate moisture content reading.  Includes a 9 volt battery.  Accuracy to +-1%, reads 6% to 24% moisture content.

I am not too please with the performance of this meter. I actually question its accuracy. I have another meter, and this meter is often 10% moisture content different. Also, I often get 3-4 different moisture readings on the same piece of wood, in the same location.

I get loads of fresh cut wood from a tree surgeon (including burls) so this is a must have for my shop. The price was very attractive. Works great!
