Great value

I purchased this tool and read the online reviews so I was "cautious". I've been using it for some time and I can't say enough how pleased I am with it. It does what it's supposed to do and it is a great value.

Very lacking as an M2 product

This is the only Benjamins tool I have bought to date that I am not real happy with. Mine seems to be made of something that is marginally classified as M2, due to how the sparks fly on the grind (starshaped). It also creates a folded over burr, unlike other hss that I have delt with. Lastly, the coating on the blade took a while to get off.

I'd love to be able to afford the high end tools - but this one sure beats the low end parting tool I had been using and being narrower certainly helps with accuracy. I'll probably buy more from this line as my low end set wears out.

The HSS Parting tool is great quality, and the best bang for the buck anywhere. The fit and finish was better than I expected for the price, and it beats the tar out of my 1/4" parting tool.
