This is a very good tool. Really worth the money. Does need sharpening before using but need to learn that any way.

Before using this gouge I was trying every tool I had. This gouge chips the wood off fast. Thanks for the great tool and great price

The gouge works great. It cuts good and keeps it's edge for a good long time. It handles the big jobs well.

A hunk

Nothing but a hunk. Used the roughing gouge on 4X4 to make boxes. Cut down on my time and proved to be very strong. I will be getting the larger one, too. This should be one of the tools in your rack.

Great gouge

This is a really good Roughing gouge. The amount of steel in the tool is great and the length of the handle makes using this tool easy to handle. Roughing the same material I had to sharpen it less than my old tool. It's well worth the Money.

Benjamin's best HSS tools (Roughing Gouge in particular)

The roughing gouge was my seventh Benjamin's Best lathe tool from PSI. Like the others, it was well made, sharp and ready to use. Hold's its edge well and is solid and well machined. You can pay double the price elsewhere for similar quality, or four times the price for better quality (carbide edge), but for the money this is a great tool.

Great tool!

I needed a great roughing gouge and this one hits the nail on the head. Great price and really tears through the wood and gets that rough shape down quickly.

I just thought I was happy with my old roughing gouge. I bought and tried out this one because I wanted to step up to a larger one. Nice...very nice. Holds an edge very well and feels good in the hands. Great value.
