If you are looking for a starter set of chisels for turning pens look no further. These cut into hard wood and plastic like butter and leave a great finish! As for price, you can not beat this anywhere. I like carbide inserts but you are talking about $100.00 per tool when going this route. This is half that for three tools. For pen turning this will take care of most to all of your needs. This is a must have chisel set and I can't find them anywhere else.

I purchased this set after learning on a cheap set, and the difference is amazing. Once you go with carbide tips, you will never go back. The tools are comfortable to use, the box is very nice, and my impression was that it was a very good value for the money. You could buy a more expensive tool, but it won't work any better than this. The tools stay sharp, are finished well, and are a great addition to any shop.

Great set of pen turning chisels. Smaller handles and the carbide tips are a fantastic combination.

They are worth the price as I used them twice as long and still cutting good with them then the regular Chisels without sharping yet, Try the Carbide and you will see for yourself. I am 84 and hate to stop and sharpen a chisel when I am working at the lathe

Just what I needed for small work on the lathe. No more stopping to sharpen tools every half an hour. They have been a big time saver for me.

I broke the tip off two of the three tools so far. Called PSI when the gouge broke and they quickly sent a new one. Broke the tip off the parting tool and informed PSI via customer service email and got no response. If I were you, I would order these tools in HSS and learn to sharpen them. I ground new tips on the broken tools and still use them. But the braze on both tools had voids, they were poorly manufactured. I cannot recommend them.

The skew and parting tool work really well but the gouge chipped on me the first time I used it on an acrylic blank. That was really disappointing. Other than that it was an ok value at an ok price. I will probably invest in something a little more expensive and hopefully better quality soon

They are verry nice to use on smaller projects. I have used them about a dozen times so far, I wish that I bought them sooner. The price is great for the quality and the size is perfect for pen making.
