The spindle adapter from Penn State is much less expensive and works just as good as other adapters I've seen. I'd advise anyone to buy it here and save.

I purchased this along with 1"x 8 to 3/4" x 16 adapter to enable me use my 3/4"x16 el cheapo scroll chuck (from a previous lathe) on my newer Koning lathe (M33x3.5). I was cautioned by the nice gentleman at Penn State that this might not work well, but, for the price, it might be worth a try. It worked! For awhile. I turned a couple dozen bottle stoppers, but after a bad catch, the chuck started to run untrue. I cleaned, adjusted, reassembled everything but can not get the wobble out. It's not a hugh deal, maybe .005", but enough to be annoying. I've relegated "elcheapo" to the old lathe and use the Koning for larger work. I am very impressed with the service from Penn State and recommend their adapters, just not for how I used them.
