Make a handsome pocket watch with this project
This pocket watch project is easy to make. First drill your wood with a 1-3/8" Forstner Bit. Mount the wood to your headstock with one of our 1-3/8" expanding collet chucks (i.e. CXC). Turn the blank down to the pocket watch profile, install the included stud (that attaches the chain), then insert a mini quartz clock insert into the 1-3/8" holes. Kit includes the chain and stud.

Making pocket watches with the expanding collett chuck is easy and quick - I've made a pocket watch from bare block to completed watch in 10 minutes. And the chain adds just the right touch of elegance. I've never had anyone disappointed in receiving a pocket watch I've made. And the people I've taught to make pocket watches think so as well.
