I have used this collector for several months now on a regular basis. It does have alot of suction, and I am very satisfied with that. It is fairly quite and well built. However, the bags that come with this unit let way too much dust escape back into the shop. You can literally see the dust poof out from the fabric of the bag into the air. I thought 1 micron bags would be pretty good. These are not. After the "cake" was built-up on the inside of the bag the dust leakage was less but still totally unacceptable. Initially I considered buying the unit with the canister filter and clear bottom bag for about $120 more. I regret not doing so. Now it will cost me alot more to upgrade. If you buy the DC2000, do it right and get the canister filter model. In a dust collector, filtration is the most important thing anyway.

I recently purchased this unit, 2HP DC2000B Dust Collector with 1 Micron Bags, well it's pretty tall with the bag but don't let that effect your decision. This is a wonderful piece of equipment, I hope in time to run some short ducting. It's a little louder than I hoped but not bad and it SUCKS and I mean that in a good way, lots of suction does a great job in my opinion and no dust flying around in the air. I'm quite pleased with my purchase and shipping was pretty quick for something this heavy. Would highly recomend this to anyone looking for a dust collector, great price and works well

This unit was easy to assemble. Pulls dust from places I didn't know existed. The only complaint is the casters don't roll well on my cement floor.

4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Great Dust Collector -- Needs New Instructions

As a dust collector, this is at least a 4-star and probably close to a 5-star item, but the instructions were at best 1-star. The only thing that saved the instructions was the parts diagram, the written directions quite often skipped vital steps. But, once assembled, the unit sucks up all of the fine dust -- and much of the larger particles that fall into the Big Gulp -- from my lathe exactly the way I'd hoped it would. My workshop is next to the laundry room and we can once again hang wet clothes and know that they'll be clean when they dry.

This baby really sucks. Before starting the unit up for the first time I accidentally dropped a quarter inch fender washer down inside the ducting. With no other option I decided to take my chances and hope it would not make it to the impellers. To make a long story longer this unit was able to pull the washer six feet horizontally, six feet vertically and then another twelve feet horizontally before dropping to the collector. The assembly instructions could have been a little clearer. The unit did have one small dent on the base. It would have been nice if the base was at least primed on the underside. Other than these small issues I couldn't be happier with the unit.

Reviewer: William Fortney (Marion, IN)

I recently have returned to turning on the lathe. As much as I enjoy turning, I have limited time to do so. Even though I am lucky enough to have a dedicated wood shop I feel it is very important to clean up the mess after each session. My new dust collector has cut my clean up time a good 80 - 90% and has virtually eliminated the layer of dust that used to cover everything in the shop. I made my own adjustable track system to attach a Big Gulp Dust Hood directly to the back of the lathe so I can put it right where it needs to be to do the best job. I did make a grate from expanded metal that fits in the back of the dust hood that will hopefully keep the wrong thing from being sucked into the collector. I am very pleased with this dust collector and all the items purchased with it. I am also pleased with the noise level. Thank You for a great product. Bill

I purchaced this DC 2 months ago and I just love it. It is efficent, quiet and powerful. I have a small shop and it does a great job on my planer, jointer, tablesaw, band saw and my sander. It is a wonderful improvement over my shop vac.

Great price and well made. I am impressed by its power and the fact that it is quieter then I expected! On the negative side... I would like to see the top bag supported better then so it looks full instead of hanging canvas. I have to say that the manual to put this together is about as poor as it gets. Items aren't labeled well (like when to use which screws) and key items like the motor support aren't even mentioned. This is one situation where it may be easier just to look at the picture on the cover and just put things where they make sense. Despite the assembly challenges, I would recommend this product to anyone considering one.
