Big Gulp Dust HoodI use the hood for my lathe and it picks up a very large amount of dust for me. The design is excellent for that purpose and my lungs appreciate it. For the price, this hood can't be beat, it's not too big and bulky on the back side of my lathe, and is big enough to cover a nice size area.

The Bigger the Gulp, the BetterOn the lathe, when sanding any wood or turning dry wood, small particles of wood are spewn everywhere, ending up either in my lungs or on surfaces all over the house. It's vital for health -- and really helpful for marital bliss -- to keep this dust under control. That's where an adequate dust collection system comes in. BUT the only way to get ALL of the dust produced on the lathe is to have an aperture in the system that's close enough and big enough to span the dust-producing area. That's were the Big Gulp shines! It's huge -- at least compared to normal tool accessories -- so it can gather almost every particle of dust produced and put it in the collection system where it belongs. Yes, it could be bigger -- I'd like that's about the same height and twice the length, but for now this is the biggest and best collector front end available!

The best hood so far for miter sawsI've tried many possible solutions to collecting dust from my miter saw, from home made rigs to using the built-in dust collection port in the saw (DeWalt 12"). This is the best solution so far. It collects most of the dust, especially the finer stuff, when coupled with my 1 1/2 hp Penn State Industries dust collector. Verical and horizontal positioning are important for optimal dust collection.

Excellent ValueIt does the job for which it was intended. Quality and price was better than the competition.

Maybe the best miter saw dust colector I've foundI have searched for a suitable dust collector for a miter saw, and I have built a couple, none of which worked well. The Big Gulp, with a couple of "wings" attached to each side, seems to come as close to doing the job as I've come up with so far. Some sawdust still escapes around it, but it's much better than anything else I've come up with.

Big Gulp Dust HoodI really like the dust hood that I purchased. It saves a lot of mess and leaves little saw dust behind.

handy hoodBig gulp hood works great upside down... do to space problem I could not use the hoop as delivered for my radial arm saw. I plugged the original vac hole with piece of wood, then cut hole in botton and added a 4 in. att hood. the piece of wood is attached with screws and sealed with caulk. it can be mounted to a stand or the wall via the piece of wood...

Review: Big Gulp Dust HoodThis works very well with my mini lathe.

This Really Cleans Up.The Big Gulp Dust Hood works great for gathering up the wood chips from my mini-lathe. The unit is large enough that I don't have to move the hood as I'm pen turning. How well it works really depends on the vacuum system to which it is connected.
