Fantastic product. I ordered this chuck specifically for holding pen blanks while drilling them on the lathe. Since the chuck comes with longnose jaws, I use them to hold the pen blank on the headstock and use a drill chuck in the tailstock with the drill bit. I have drilled at least 400 blanks with this chuck and it still works like brand new. Drills center, every time. The chuck is plenty strong. If you turn bowls that are more than 3-4" thick, I recommend you upgrade to the Barracuda2, but otherwise this is a fantastic chuck. Be sure to blow it out with an air chuck, as it can easily jam with wood shavings if you are drilling with it. That is true for any jaw chuck.
