Replacement Tool Rests for Mini-LatheWhen my mini-lathe tool bar broke, I located this product from PSE. My problem was that the support post was 1/2" while most replacements were larger. The replacements are quite nice, with two minor issues. First, the support post is quite short, preventing me from raising the tool rest adequately when working small pieces. When fully inserted, the bottom of the post barely reached down to the locking screw on the base. Second, the post was slightly larger in diameter than the mounting tube in my base, requiring me to grind it down about 1/16" to properly fit. The tool rest is round, whereas a flat base would have been preferred. Overall, these units are quite servicable but not entirely a good match for my Wilton mini-lathe

Post is too shortThe tool rests on my mini lathe are terrible. I was hopeful that changing to this tool rest would solve the problem, but it won't work. The post is an inch too short. I can't raise this rest high enough to be safe or usable. Sigh...

Tool rest reviewThe 6 inch tool rest is just the correct size for turning pens as you don't have to move the tool rest as you do the different segments. Should be standard equipment on the mini lathe.

Tool RestThe length of the upright needs to be longer to work better with the older Penn State lathes.

tool rest 1/2when they arrived, I found that they did not fit, post to small. When I told them, PSI, they sent me the 3 tool rest set, larger, at no cost to me and was very happy with that. Thank you PSI. Mike Delgado

restsOk, but need a little edge on them

nice too bar restsThese tool bar rests are well worth the money. I didn't realize how much nicer it is to turn a long item without having to move the tool rest. They are very sturdy also.
