Excellent tool rest

This was my second order. I had to cut the post off to fit my lathe but this is to be expected to get the right height. I also had to sand the posts to get the paint off so they would fit. I have used all three rests and they work perfect. I would recommend these rests to anyone starting to turn. They are strong and of good quality. I look forward to my next order I have good faith in PSI for good quality tools.

3 Piece tool rest set

I have only used the 12 inch straight rest and it works very well. It has good support and is easy to use and setup. Looks like the other two tool rests will also work good for bowels. They are all built very strong for the price and are a quality product.I was able to reduce changing the tool rest as I had to do in the past with my smaller rest, So it has saved me quite a bit of time in turning

Lathe tool rests

The rests have been fine except I had to cut down the post to fit my lathe (Jet 42"). I also cut the ends of the straight rest to give me a 9" rest (I have 6" and 12" rests already).

Better than expected

Because of the price and one other review, I wasn't expecting much. However when I opened the rests I was pleasantly surprised to find all 3 rests in fine shape. I have used them and found them to work fine. Especially the curves, all I had before were straight rests. While a radii on top might be easier to use this works fine for now.

very handy

While the workmanship on them isn't so great, they really come in handy for small bowl work, and I think they're a good deal.

Total Junk

I got these a few days ago, and I'm shocked at the quality of junk they're sending out. The steel looks like it was cut with a brick. Rough, sharp edges, uneven steel width, tool posts ground down like something out of a 1840's blacksmith shop. The welds are terrible. It'd be a miracle if it even held together long enough to actually use. I have to grind the edges straight, have the posts re-welded, and wire brush the rust off them, just to make them usable. Too bad there's no rating lower than 1 star, because it doesn't even deserve that much. Save your money & buy these elsewhere. These are total junk.

What a deal...

I shouldn't be telling PSI what a deal this set of tool rests is! I have been using them now for about a month and I am very pleased. The curved rest allow much better bowl turning. The straight "T" is very sturdy and my crossbar measured 1" in diameter even though the description here says 3/4". These are quality tool rests.
