pin jaws for 4-jaw chuck

I needed a set of jaws to hold small bowls, boxes, mushrooms, etc., for turning. My regular #1 jaws have a minimum holding size of about 1-3/8". I thought I'd give the "pin jaws" a chance. I am very pleased with the results. I added a fairly short tenon (a tad under 1/4") to my object and grabbed it firmly with the ends of the jaws. The look of it didn't give me a good feeling, but the results were fine. It's the shoulder that counts, and this set of jaws held my small-diameter piece very firmly. I finished the piece successfully with no drama. I'm quite pleased and will be using them more for holding all my small work.

A great addition to my lathe. I can do smaller parts without creating a lot of jigs and jam chucks. Super price and quality product.
