Jam chucksThese are easy to use and the cost was right. Will hold a small box with ease.

10 Pc Expanding Jam Chuck SystemExcellent. Just what I needed. But it took a couple of tries before I caught on to the trick of not expanding it too much. Just make it snug or you risk the work piece exploding as you turn closer to the core...

Good kitThe kit contained the jam chucks that I needed to turn bowls and Spirit pourer. The kit was missing a washer for one of the chucks. The was easily replaced by a standard large washer or one from another chuck.

helpfulvery useful

10 Pc Expanding Jam Chuck SystemSystem works OK. Found a little slippage while turning a piece on my lather. I just add to re-tighten and away we went. I would like to see a wider range of sizes.

Very good value - flexible, secure, fast setup.Good value for the money- jam chucks expand to fit nearly any size opening. Much faster setup, more secure, and more flexible than turning wooden chucks. Can be used on either head or tail stock with live center drill chuck.

Expanding Jam Chuck SystemI enjoy turning smaller projects, and this expanding jam chuck system helps with finishing the bottoms of pieces like toothpick holders, small goblets and other small items. In order to use it, the interior size of your project must be fairly close to one of the five sizes of the jam chucks - so this eliminates using the system on just any random sized project. Since I already had a set of Forstner bits, it is handy to have another set, as any Forstner bit will get dull after a lot of use. The price is very reasonable ($39.95, which includes the 5 jam chucks AND 5 Forstner bits). Although it might be tempting, these chucks can NOT be used to hold your project independently without the use of the tailstock! Trust me on this! Be sure to use a very slow speed on the lathe at first to see if the piece is secure, before turning to complete the project. All in all, it is a very handy and economical set, allowing for the interior project size limitations.
