I was pleased that there was no roughness with the plate drive threads, and have been using on my wood lathe work for several weeks now. My only concern is the relief space on the thread ID before the actual threads begin. With the limited length of the drive shaft thread on my lathe, only a few of the threads actually engage the drive. I cannot see any real reason for the substantial thread relief. However, all has worked well.

This is in my opinion one of the best face plates on the market for the price. It is definitely high quality and allows you to easily secure the work piece to the faceplate with no worry of slippage.
