First I'll say that I live in a dry county so I can't actually test this item myself, but I made 2 of them for family. Neither of them actually fit in the wine bottle past the edge of the first rubber ring. You can't seal a bottle that way. This will be the last of this type that I will buy. If you can't use them for what they are intended, why bother with them?

After making hundreds of wine bottle stoppers using the BS3 stopper kit, I tried the Lo Profile BS7LP. Whereas there is no difference in the making of the stoppers, I find the low profile feature of the BS7LP highly desirable insofar as the wooden part does not sit so high and is closer to the bottle. Furthermore I think the treads are machined better on the BS7LP. These will now be my standard.
