Bad color for a wine stopper

The silicon product looks like a pretty good and very reusable material but the color of the silicone bottle stoppers, although they may look clear or cream colored in the catalog or on the website was not the color I received. The product that was sent to me was a pretty bright YELLOW. The yellow silicon did not seem to me to go with a fine turned bottle stopper or a better bottle of wine.

I have received and am using the bottle stoppers. However, the wooden peg does not fit into the 23/64" hole drilled into the blank for the mandrel on the lathe. The stopper has to be redrilled out to 13/32" before the stoppper can be attached to the turned wood. The silicone part of the stopper is yellow instead of white as most other stoppers are?

This item functioned as advertised. It worked well for me using a Nova screw chuck. The size hole suggested in the directions was incorrect. Check before drilling the hole in the blank.

The product and service were as expected. One surprise, however...The size of the shank to be fitted into the turned head was larger than the previous lot and larger than the directions implied by 1/32". Change suppliers?

Silicon Bottle Stopper

Great bottle stoppers. Were very easy to attach with glue to the turned pieces through the same hole used to mount the wood block to the chuck. They were very popular and happily received a Xmas gifts. Now my wife wants some just for herself.

Great stopper

These are great stoppers. They work well with any type of wood and they seal the bottle well.

Not what it seems...

The rubber on these stopper bottoms feels good and the function is fine but the color is terrible. They are not clear or milky white as shown online; they are yellow. The only things they have going for them is price and the dowels being included.

Silicon stopper base

Great for low cost stoppers. I have to apply some glue to the inside of silicon to keep silicon portion from sometimes staying inside the wine bottle.

Not what I expected

I love making bottle stoppers and I thought these would be good. In the past I have drilled a hole for a dowel and glued it in, then used the dowel to hold the wood as I turned it. I didn't realize that the stoppers would already be attached to the dowel, so I have to figure out how to use them.
