This 10 pack Silicon Bottle Stopper Kit. These silicon stoppers are superior to cork. An easy project - the stopper fits over larger diameter of a stepped wooden dowel and is held by friction. The smaller diameter of the dowel is glued into a turned blank. Package of 10 dowels and stoppers.

These stoppers are very easy to make with the stopper chuck that PSI sells. I made five this afternoon. I was a little surprised by the yellow color but they work fine.

I prefer this type of stopper because it is inexpensive, works well, and is easy and fast to use. Once glued, the stepped dowel is chucked into a chuck with pin jaws or a drill chuck. The silicone piece is replaceable, and I think it seals better than the o-ring type on the metal ones. I make a lot of stoppers for friends from laminated scraps and I can afford to give them a spare seal. These ones are yellow. I'm not sure how it is going to look with certain woods, but it is different than the clear/white ones I'm used to.
