I have done the bottoms of several small bowls with this set of jaws and find the grip of the large tapered bumpers to be exceedingly firm. One cannot hog of the wood, but acceptable runout and solid connections make loose flying objects a less probable situation.

I am well satisfied with the Jumbo Jaws. I have recently purchased a backup Jumbo Jaws so I do not have to remove my Barracuda4 Lathe Chuck. I operate two lathes to make my work easier.

When you're learning to turn it's nice to have this set of bowl jaws to give you a hand. Works great.

I have used it on a bowl and tea lights. Tight hold on both and didn't experience any movement. These jaws have opened up some turning possibilies.

This sure beats making up a jam chuck to hold items. I think it is a must have item when turning the bottom of your bowls. I can turn three bottoms on my bowls in the time it use to take me to just turn one, and a lot safer then the way I did them before.
