Jet black as described. I used it for the upper barrel of the Over/Under shotgun pen. Polished to a high shine.

This material is solid black with no "contrasting shades of real pearl" as listed in the description. I was looking for a black pen to match the white aquapearl (which is very nice) and this just did not live up to its description. It does make a very nice solid black pen though.

I ordered this to use for one end of the teachers pen. It turned and polished great. It looks as good as real horn. You'll be satisfied with it's look and how well it turns.

I did not like the way this product drilled. the blank while drilling started melting making the hole to large. I even changed the speed on the drill. I would not recommend this product, and will not buy it again. I messed up 3 blanks.I am not new at this game i've sold hundreds of turned products.I even tried different types of bits.

This is a good blank to use on nice pens, especially when they have gold accents. I would suggest using several sanding steps for it is hard to get rid of the visible scratches sometimes.

This black gets translucent when turned thin.
