I used the Amboynya Buryl for the .50 Cal pen kits, and the wood is absolutely beautiful. The grain stands out like no other. The value at Penn State is also very good. I saw this same product for sale at 4x's the price at another dealer.

This wood is perfect for pen making, it has a beautiful color and nice burl to it, it's fairly hard and takes a nice shine.

This is one of my most favorite wood for pens. It turns and polishes very nice and the burls and colors are beautiful. I've used this wood many times and have never been disappointed!

I had one piece that was not cut straight making it difficult to square up on the jig.

The figure on the two blanks I turned is spectacular. A friend and I spent a couple of hours finding many "faces" in the burl. The wood turns very well and takes a high polish.

Most of the blanks were of great quality, some of them were borderline burl.

I used this with the Apollo pen kit and it made a fantastic gift.
