I ordered 8 pieces. One of them split when I drilled it because the grain was very twisted, but I was able to glue it back together and save the pen. Customers like the connection to Bethlehem.

I have made many pens out of Bethlehem Olive wood and they have turned out great. My church has purchased four and ordered four more of presentations. An added bonus is that each blank turns out a pen the is a little different from each other.

I liked working with this wood and it polished up nicely. It looked great with a Classic Black Fountain Pen. The Bethlehem card adds a nice touch.

Have ordered several Olivewood 4-packs. I find that this wood drills & turns easily. Finishing with HUT provides reasonably durable and glossy finish with very little effort. The grain is attractive and well figured. All in all one of my top choices for pens and other small turnings.

These pen blanks are wonderful to work with. The smell of olive immediately fills my shop when I start cutting or turning a pen with this wood. It turns good and has a good finish. The price was right buying it by the pack.

Very nice wood, very quickly shipped, I would recommend to any and all interested in making pens. I made a Pen / Pencil set for my Pastor's 50th birthday. It turned out great.

After receiving the same product from other companies, Penn State Industries is my only source for Olivewood from the Holy Land! The certificates are hands downs the best in the industry. My customers want an authentic piece of wood with an authentic certificate (the other suppliers have a photo copied certificate). The Olivewood is fresh and has not been sitting on a shelf for 2 years! Penn State Industries is my supplier for life!

This is the easiest wood that I have turned. To finish, I went to 1200 grit to get the best finish. The wood has a very unique grain. I will have to buy more to supply the friends with pens made from this wood.

This historic wood turns beautifully and comes to a wonderful finish. I plan to give a Gatsby pen with this wood to my minister. I think it's appropriate.

I used this wood to make some designer pens and they are beautiful. I sanded to 12000 and used Shellwax for the finish i was looking for.

I cannot make pens fast enough to meet the demand for pens made from this wood. People love what this wood represents. It also buffs to a beautiful finish. I do not use any finishes on this wood. There is enough natural oils in the wood that I can get a great shine by just buffing.

Reviewer: Billy Tallant (Purdon, TX)

The Olive wood I received from Penn State was superior in quality to other sites that I have purchased this wood from. There was several things that caused me to really be pleased. One was the quality of the wood. The olive blanks that I received had outstanding grain patterns. I have purchased this same wood from other sites, but the blanks never had the grain quality that I received from Penn State. The other thing that I really liked was the fast turn around on their orders. I placed my order & it seemed like the order was at my house over night. I will definitely be making my purchases from Penn State. Billy

I make a lot of pens for charity and family. The Olivewood pen is always the request of choice and everyone always looks for the certificate that states that it was grown in Bethlehem. The small sticker for each pen is also a great idea. I will purchase these forever.
