I built 15 of these pens in a group as gifts for a college group reunion. The fit and assembly was good but with minor difficulties (diameter variations due to plating?). I used locally obtained sugar maple wood, staining some pens darker to contrast with the copper plating and leaving others lighter colored. Most of my old friends thought I had bought the pens at first. When they learned that the pens were hand made, I was toasted as "The Craftsman". Of course by that time, they would have drunk to the day their laundry was ready but it was still nice.
For the price this is great. The only problem I had was the hole at the bottom was to small to allow the ball point all the way out on 2 of the kits (out of 5 used so far) and had to be drilled out with a 5/64 bit. Transmission appears to the same as other, more costly, kits. Finish looks good and I have carried one in my pocket for several weeks as a test with no fading. Without the problem of the hole it would have been 5 stars.
I love the color and it makes fabulous pens.

This is a great kit to use when making a bullet pen.

I made 5 with cherry. I can't believe how inexpensive the pens were. Looks great

I love the funline copper. I was reluctant to get the copper at first, but after making them, I have sold several and the ladies love them. The price is great.

None of the parts fit together. The cap would not fit in the clip and the twist mech. would not fit in the tube even with a large vise!!
I returned all items.

Over the past year I have ordered over one hundred of these kits. I have used all of them to manufacter pens made of rifle casings. My customers love them.

Bad woodworker. I ordered this pen kit as my first foray into the fine art of making pens. It was definitely a learning process, but the low cost of this pen kit was appreciated; not only did the copper go well with the color of cherry, but the relatively low-cost kits allowed me to learn how to make pens when I made mistakes. I rate this product highly and would recommend it to anyone who is beginning to want to make smaller pens (with a matching wood).
This is a beautiful pen, epecially when used with a light red colored wood like Cherry or Red Oak,
As far as functionality and performance the pen worked great. I have been making pens, using your kit, with rifle cartridges instead of wooden bodies turned down on the lathe. Therefore I have to separately buy longer brass inserts for the half of the pen that houses the pen tip and the twist mechanism. This is because the rifle cartridge that best works for that purpose is longer than the tube so I have to buy them separate and cut them down to size. The only thing that would make your product more likable in my eyes would be to include and extra long brass insert with the kit. I'm not sure how cost productive that would be or if it would be practical for you're company, but if it isn't too much trouble I think it should be considered. Thank You

These copper pen kits add to the richness of my pens and really make them look classy, all at a reasonable price.

PSI has the greatest looking pen kits and the only way you won't have good quality is your fault at turning it. The finishes on the pen parts are fabulous. I love the gun metal and T/A but even the gold, which is not my personal favorite in a pen, in this case is beautiful and glowing. If anything were to be wrong I know Penn State Industries would take care of it. Their customer service is above any with which I have had to deal.

I have made many of these pens and by far they are easy to make and inexpensive enough to give as gifts to friends and people who treat you with respect and you wish to reward for their kindness.

I really like the copper color - matched well with the rosewood blanks!
I used this pen kit along with a 30.06 cartridge and deer horn to create a pretty unique pen. I sometimes use the actual bullet, but the lead can create issues. The copper plating of this pen kit accents the other components quite nicely. The only issue I have is I would like to be able to get the pen clips in other shapes such as a deer, rifle, etc in this plating color
Terrific kit, I've purchased over 25 of them, use them in making my bullet pens, 308 and 30-06 brass, good looking and great sellers. Keep them in stock please
OVERALL, THE KITS SEEM GOOD BUT THE REFILLS ARE SOMETIMES DRY. i HAVE HAD COMPLAINTS OF SELLING A PEN WITH NO NINK.
THANKS, CHARLES L.KLINE
When I got the pen kit I though I might have mess up but I was realy please with the way the copper made the pen look.

I like unique effects, and the copper finish kit provides a great way to change it up.
This is a great value and provides a great contrast that my customers enjoy.
These copper pen kits made the prettiest pens with their nice, deep color. I will use them again.
I order these to try something different. These kits were very easy to use and the pens turned out great! Thanks for offering such a great product at such a low price!

When I first ordered these, friends on a woodworking forum were skeptical. They insisted the finish wouldn't last, and a pen kit that cheap couldn't be any good; but I ordered them anyway. The copper finish on these pens looks great, and I have been carrying one of them myself and using it almost daily for many months now -- it still looks great and the finish hasn't worn or tarnished. Even after one of my cats chewed on it (and managed to put some minor scratches in it) the finish hasn't deteriorated. I love these pens, and have just ordered more kits. I also like the gun metal color (which seems to be just as durable); but that only goes well with certain colors of wood, mostly lighter stuff like birdseye maple. The copper looks good with any kind of wood.

The pens I made with this kit really stood out. Tons of compliments came with these. I am really impressed with this finish.
