Like the gold 30cal cartridge pen it is easy to make and easy to assemble. Lots of hunters around here so they like them and buy alot from me. I make this in deer antler and camouflage. Great pen.

This pen is both fun and easy to make and is a big seller to those hunters out there.

This pen was easy to assemble and you only have one cut. It looks great when finished.

Very nice, sleek, and rugged! For a person like me that spends a lot of time slipping his pen back and forth into his shirt pocket - the click mechanism is handy!!! This type of pen makes my job so much easier as I'm always signing for shipment, checking invoice items etc..... The pen is rugged enough for warehouse use for someone like me as well as its look attracts attention. Nice Job.

I bought this kit to make for my husband and he loved it! His friends all wanted to know where he got it from.

I just made my first four today with the lava brite camo for Christmas gifts for friends who are hunters, excellent kit. Will order more and this time along with antler.

I was amazed by how beautiful this pen is. The pen was so easy to put together I have done 10 of these and plan to do a lot more in the future.
I first ordered 5 bullet pen kits back in May 09. I was very impressed with the quality of the material and the ease of assembly. You wouldn't think using such a small piece of wood would make a great looking pen, but it works. Took these pens up north visiting relatives and the first person I showed them to bought all 5. This told me I had a "hit" on my hands. Since returning home I've reordered 10 chrome and 10 gold kits. Using high end exotic wood, I know these pens will be outstanding. And speaking of outstanding Penn State should get 5 stars, a very well run company with fast service and shipping. Keep up the good work.

These pens were gifts for my son in the Army and my brother, a police officer. I used kingwood on one and rosewood on the other. The kit was easy to use and the final product was incredible. They both loved 'em. Now I'm going to turn the gold bullet kits. This one's fast and easy.

Very nice pen kit!!! Easy to assemble and looks great!

Fun and sharp looking!

Great pen kit and at a good price. Design enables pen to be made with half of pen blank which also reduces cost. Looks great when finished, nice click mechanism, should be a hit when selling to "hunting" crowd. Just waiting for delivery of gold version pen kit and camouflage pen blank...that's a winning combo.

Beautiful pen kit. I really like the bullseye clip & the fact that it uses a gel refill. My customers prefer it over other bullet cartridge pens that I have. I would like to be able to use other style clips as well, such as a rifle.
Excellent kit, but be careful with the instructions. The assembly process is challenging but worth the effort because
the finish is top notch. The pen is in demand by my customers.

Nice pen. Easy to work with. Great seller. I will buy more.

This pen looks great made from wood to acrylic to stone. You can't go too wrong with whatever you choose. I have made over 35 of these and sold over 25. Quality is a "5". They will fall apart. You must epoxy all press together parts, and the parts already pressed together in the kit must be glued using thin CA. It will fall apart or the parts will get loose - especially the bullet cartridge. I have had several gell ink cartridge leaks. Expect a high return rate unless you do the extra steps the instructions don't tell you about.

This pen kit finishes very nicely, and it is easy to assemble.

Very fast turn (top half only) but very nice looking kit when done.

I bought both the gold and chrome and switched the point end to give them a more realistic look. Making these kits are very easy and fun and I just love making them.

I love it!! Great price and great quality which I have come to expect from Penn State.
No complaints, but I have found that assembly is much easier if after doing Step# 6,"inserting Plunger Coupler", I install the refill and spring. This makes it much easier in a later step to screw in the plunger.
I make most of my product from antler and thought this would be a nice addition to my line, however, my customers do not think it is a good value for the price. I make a similar item using real cartridges and inlayed with antler for less money. this has always been a huge seller at craft shows.
Everyone who saw the finished pen loved it. I used the molten metal blank. The finished pen has a good feel and is well balanced.
This is the perfect pen kit for my deer antler pens. Very easy and high quality pen kit.
Pen o.k. Click mechanism was low quality.
I have used other kits like this, but this is by far the best.

This pen is well liked by the deer hunter especially when the top part of the pen is made out of an antler that the hunter provided. The mechanism works smoothly and the finish of the hardware is excellent.
Well balanced. Very good size. Nice looking pen, strong click mechanism. My only concern while assembling was the whole thing seems held together by the screw on tip and it took a little tweaking to keep the cartridge tight. Very unique item.
The bullet cartridge is easy to assemble, and looks great, made a couple with camo blanks and the military loved them. We live around a military base had several request for them, again thanks for a great product..
I have made five of them so far, and everyone who sees them loves them. They are a good seller. The quality is excellent and the gel pen writes wonderfully.
Thanks for the product
Made this pen for a local gift shop on a military base. It sold in two hours. Great looking pen and an easy build. The pen is a little top heavy so if balance is your priority over looks...go elsewhere.

Made my first pen and found it to be easy. Just follow the instruction given. I would recommend it to anyone from the first timer to the experienced.
I enjoyed making this kit very much. I added laser engraving to the shell to make it more personal for my son stationed in Iraq. He will not take it out side of his living quarters because it doesn't want to loose ot. I've made two more for a couple of his battle buddies, I can't wait to make more for the soldiers it's our way of honoring them. looking foward to getting some gold kits. One thing I would do is make the nib brass coated so it looks like a true bullet.
The cartridge pen turning and assembly is quite straight forward and simple. However, the problem with use is terrible for the cartridge is tooooooooo slick - it slides in your hand while using - very annoying and renders the pen useless. This problem has bee seen by all to whom I have shown the pen.

These products came very quickly. They were easy to assemble. I work in a rehab wood shop at a State Hospital. I already have orders for several more pens. Thanks for good service and good products.
Reviewer: Jerome Alterman (Reno, NV)
Excellent kit, fit and finish are very good, and the click mechanics is one of the better ones that I've run across. I would like to see a copper "bullet" for the pen, make it a bit more realistic looking.

As a teacher my pens are in and out of my pockets many times a day. I like to use the different pen kit pens in class to inspire the kids to make their own. After a month of use the bullet pen has had several problems. The pocket clip connecting tab is thin and weak and bent out of shape quickly. The bushing that presses down on the pocket clip also backed out a little and made a sloppy, loose fit. I popped it off with a small screwdriver and removed the bent pocket clip. The bullet cartridge has also loosened slightly to spin and feel sloppy. I am going to pull it all apart and put it back together again using superglue on all of the connections that are supposed to be permanent.
I have purchased pen kits from all over but I never found a kit as good as this. This is a high quality product that looks great. With only the upper blank to turn, making this pen is a breeze and the quality of its components is very high. This Chrome pen is a real eye-catcher with any bright Acrylic turned blank and well worth the money. Thanks Penn State for having this in your inventory.
